Mikhail E. Lezhnev (Mike) is Of Counsel to the Firm’s Estate Planning and Estate Administration, and Taxation Departments.
Mr. Lezhnev counsels high-net-worth individuals and private businesses concerning estate planning as well as related corporate law, and tax law. He also advises concerning the tax implications of cryptocurrency.
In his estate planning practice, Mr. Lezhnev advises on and drafts Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Life Insurance Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, LLC Operating Agreements, and Asset Protection Trusts as well as amendments and decantings of Irrevocable Trusts. Mr. Lezhnev has also counseled on international estate planning and international estate administration.
Mr. Lezhnev’s tax matters have included corporate contributions, distributions, stock and asset acquisitions, liquidations, tax-free mergers, and international tax planning. Mr. Lezhnev has also represented and counseled clients in income/estate tax audits before the IRS, state tax departments, and the IRS Appeals Office. His other matters have involved compensation tax planning, and tax compliance of international assets and entities.
Mr. Lezhnev completed a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degree program. Mr. Lezhnev is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He also has completed an advanced law degree--an LLM in Taxation with the Boston University School of Law.
Mike is an avid investor and is fluent in Russian.
