Prevailing Wage Law in New York

Alan M. Pollack, a partner in the Firm's Litigation Department, with a strong focus on employment matters, will be one of three faculty speakers in an upcoming seminar: "Prevailing Wage Law in New York".

This seminar will be a great opportunity for you to find out what a "public works" job is, what "prevailing wages" are and how they are determined; what are the responsibilities of employers, contractors and sub-contractors who are awarded public works projects; what are the general provisions in Prevailing Wage Law; and who establishes and enforces the payment of wage rates for laborers and mechanics employed on public work projects.

Mr. Pollack's experience includes the prosecution and defense of class actions arising under Section 220 of the New York Labor Law, the Davis-Bacon Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act and the defense of over 100 employers who have been investigated by federal, state and city governmental agencies for not paying prevailing wages.
