Marc Lavaia is an associate in the firm's Corporate and Litigation Departments.
Marc represents clients in a broad range of corporate transactions across industries. He counsels his clients on mergers, acquisitions, corporate formations such as LLCs, LLPs, and partnerships, as well as overseeing the expansion of already established businesses.
Marc's legal work has also included litigation and courtroom experience. Recently he has prosecuted and defended both State and Federal cases involving Intellectual Property, Breach of Contract, Commercial Transactions, Negligence, Torts, Corporate Litigation and Invasion of Privacy.
Marc has also served as the Treasurer of Campaign Finance for Friends of Eric Gioia 2005. In this role, he managed the 2005 re-election campaign accounts for New York City Council Member Eric Gioia. Marc currently remains active in New York City local politics providing services to New York City Councilpersons on various matters.
Prior to his legal career, Marc spent several years working in the Entertainment Industry as an independent film producer, as well as performing lighting, scenic and staging work for Broadway Theater and Television. This experience has given him a unique perspective in providing sound legal services to his clients.
Marc received his undergraduate degree from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 1996 and his JD from New York Law School in 2001. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts.
