Mr. Ringel has over twenty-five (25) years of experience representing a wide variety of constituencies in complex chapter 11 cases throughout the country including the official unsecured creditor's committee in In re Federated Stores Inc., and the representation of over thirty five (35) shopping center owners in In re Kmart Corporation. Other cases where Mr. Ringel had significant involvement include the representation of the debtors in In re West End Financial Advisors and In re Sonix Medical Resources, the secured lender in CPJFK LLC as the acquirer of a $15 million hotel property, the unsecured creditors committee in Best Metropolitan Towel & Linen, several investors in "Ponzi" scheme cases such as In re Solomon Dwek, more than 15 franchisors- dealers in the reorganizations of Chrysler and General Motors and has represented landlords in dozens of national retail cases such as A&P Stores, Circuit City, Linens n' Things, Blockbusters and Sabarros. Mr. Ringel is an ""AV"" rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available to attorneys.
Mr. Ringel graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.A. and received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Ringel was formerly an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of New York before joining the firm in 1988.
Mr. Ringel is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Seventh Circuits. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
