A. Mitchell Greene joined the firm as partner in 1990. He is co-chairman of the Firm's Bankruptcy Department and of the Firm's Trust and Estates Department, and a member of the Firm's Executive Committee.

Mr. Greene specializes in commercial litigation, complex bankruptcy matters, corporate mergers and agreements, large intricate probate proceedings, real estate, tax planning, tax resolutions and trusts and estates. He has handled multifaceted mergers involving public entities and multimillion dollar litigation cases in Federal and State Courts, as well as some of the largest Offers in Compromise with the Internal Revenue Service and with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

Mr. Greene has handled large Chapter 11 reorganizations representing large Corporate Debtors, Creditor Committees, Trustees, Landlords and Secured Creditors. He has served as both a Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustee in Bankruptcy cases filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. Mr. Greene has also litigated complicated cases and non-core proceedings and appeals in the Bankruptcy Court and other Federal Courts throughout the nation.

Mr. Greene counsels clients in a wide variety of matters in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift taxation, and trust and estate administration. Mr. Greene provides counseling of individuals on personal and business-related matters, including advice and preparation of planning documents such as wills, living trusts and durable powers of attorney, irrevocable and revocable life insurance trusts, gift programs, grantor retained annuity trusts, education trusts, family partnerships, generation-skipping transfers, testamentary charitable giving, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts and private foundations, property agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Mr. Greene prepares the transfer including estate and gift and individual tax planning advice to high net worth individuals. Mr. Greene advises on the structure of financial holdings, and the orderly and efficient transfer and administration of assets and personal affairs at death.

Mr. Greene received his J.D. Degree from Fordham Law in 1978.

Mr. Greene is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Greene is presently a member of the Panel of Trustees for the United States Trustee, Southern District of New York. Mr. Greene is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
